Introduction

Brunel Papua New Guinea (PNG) are seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Specialist to join our team on a FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) basis to a mining operation in Papua New Guinea. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in electrical systems, preferably within the mining industry, who holds a valid NEA licence, Australian electrical licence, or an equivalent certification.

What are you going to do 

As an Electrical Technical Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment and systems at our client's PNG mine site. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, maintenance planning, compliance with safety standards, and providing technical guidance to onsite fixed plant team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mining environments and a proven track record of delivering high-quality electrical support under FIFO conditions.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Valid PNG NEA licence/ Australian electrical licence, or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technical Specialist, preferably within the mining sector
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to work FIFO to Papua New Guinea mine site
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies
