Brunel are on the look out for a highly experienced Grid Connection Manager to join one of our major global clients within their project teams;

Duration: 12 Months.

What are you going to do 

As a Grid Connection Manager you Will be Carrying out the Following:

  • Managing relationships with all UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) and iDNOs;
  • Building solid working relationships with all DNOs across all levels of their organisation o Establish and maintain ways of working with DNOs to expedite electrical connection processes;
  • Negotiate with DNOs to secure and maintain the optimum connection agreements for our projects o To manage the process of grid applications with our partners, ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner and progress through the connection procedure without delay;
  • Oversee all network connection requests, prioritising and escalating any identified connection risks as needed;
  • To provide technical assistance throughout the development process to ensure connection constraints of the proposed locations are mitigated;
  • To develop a standardised company procedure for grid connections that reduce connection procedure and installation time and cost.

Essential skills and knowledge 

You are Right for This Role if:

• A degree or an equivalent level of qualification in Electrical Engineering is preferable;• Strong background in distribution grid connections, ideally in the EV charging industry with Electrical understanding of distribution networks;
• Previous experience of working in a similar position with knowledge of the UK grid connection process;• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders;
• Has built an existing network of influential EV stakeholders at trade associations and within DNOs.• A passion and love for all things EV.
