What are you going to do 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Estimator to join a busy pre-construction team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will assist in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans on projects ranging from $10M to $80M.

Initially, you will be involved in community, industrial warehouse, public education, retirement living and aged care projects, working closely with senior estimators, project teams and subcontractors throughout the tender process.

  • Prepare take-offs, cost plans and tender estimates.
  • Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Review project documentation, drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing tender submissions and bid documentation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and project risks.
  • Maintain pricing databases and market intelligence.
  • Work closely with project delivery teams during handover.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 3 + years experience as an Estimator with a commercial head contractor.
  • Exposure to commercial construction projects valued from $30M+.
  • Strong understanding of estimating principles and construction methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
