Introduction

What are you going to do 

Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead the preparation of complex tenders across civil and infrastructure projects, taking ownership of estimating strategy, methodology development, risk identification, subcontractor engagement, pricing reviews and tender submissions.

You'll also mentor and support a junior estimator while helping drive continuous improvement across estimating systems, processes and delivery standards.

  • Lead the preparation of competitive and accurate tenders from initial review through to submission.
  • Manage quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities and pricing development.
  • Develop construction methodologies, staging plans and value-engineered solutions.
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial, contractual and delivery risks.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive market pricing.
  • Attend site inspections, tender interviews and client presentations.
  • Coordinate tender handovers to operational teams following project award.
  • Mentor and develop estimating team members.
  • Drive process improvement, reporting and estimating system compliance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 5+ years' experience in estimating, civil construction or construction management.
  • Demonstrated experience pricing projects valued in excess of $20 million.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure or civil construction methodologies.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and risk assessment capability.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tenders while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior estimators or leading small teams highly regarded.
