Introduction

  • Inspect work environment activities arid equipment at work sites to ensure that the contractor is performing the work in the aligned and designated location and also in compliance with CPW procedure requirements as specified in the work permit and keep inspection records and prepare reports for the use of concerned departments,
  • Ensure that all activities on site have a Work Permit.
  • Works within the framework of approved corporate policies, procedures and standards, to take decision to stop the work when not in compliance with procedures related to the permit and safety rules.
  • Participate in preparation of listing die future inspection needs based on historical information and planning forecasts.
  • Must conduct timely and comprehensive inspection activities with HSE knowledge.

What are you going to do 

  • Conduct site inspection to Inspect work environment activities and equipment at wort sites to verify work area for conformance with standards and procedures and Permit to Work conditions
  • Review work conditions and if required, issues notices for correction to person responsible for conformance to ensure work is executed as per issued permit to work
  • Communicate all deficiencies / non-compliance with the related parties and conduct follow-up inspection to ensure corrective measures have been implemented.
  • Recommend to his supervisor the suspension of activity posing threat to workers or the facilities, and collect necessary photographs of work environment suspected of endangering worker safety
  • Obtain evidence and prepare a report concerning permit violations and report to the supervisor who approves actions to be taken on account at recommendations in the reports.
  • Respond to complaints or accidents in order to conduct further investigation related to permit procedure and provide suggestions to reduce potential accident/incidents in Coordination with other parties, e g. safety, environment, end users etc.
  • Conduct Permit Closure inspection to ensure compliance with CPW procedures,
  • Managing and monitoring Dumping activities (reclamation) in coordination with end users, contractors and DC environmental authority.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification and specialized courses in related field. Higher Diploma or Degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in safety and work inspection. Experience In oil and gas Industry and or infrastructure is a plus
  • Good working knowledge of engineering and HSE codes and standards, site construction and plant maintenance.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal skill with the Influential ability for conveying the Importance of procedure compliance to the parties Involved with the works.
  • Good observation skill in the identification of non-compliance against procedures/standards,
