Responsible for safely maximizing the well potential from each well drilled. Delivered by efficient planning, high quality operations support and building and maintain a highly skilled and motivated team.
Coordinate the geological operations planning and safe delivery of up to 35-40 new wells and re-drill work overs per year across three to five rigs.
Responsible for the well SOR process co-owned with Drilling and Wells entity
Coordinate the activities of the team for fluid functioning between operational follow-up and well preparation schedule (drilling sequence)
Ensures quality of all tasks under the responsibility of the team
Ensures that the team has a long-term view of upcoming wells and the needs of the different reservoirs in terms of data.
Supports BOD check to ensure optimal well design
Ensures the temporary work of New Well Delivery Manager during his absence.
Optimize WSG and OPS geologist staffing levels to match operations
Regular contacts with services companies (mudlogging, Coring, LWD and wireline logging)
Track PVA (pre-drill well design changes, data acquisition, realized wells, static results etc.) for phase 2 and 3 developments.

Well Planning Activities
Is responsible for the detailed well planning from BOD to handover
Ensures timely production of the Well Statement of Requirements (CP-NOC-009) and the detailed data acquisition programs to ensure optimized well planning.
Supports Growth and RESM teams in assessing opportunities, providing operational input
Participates in Drilling Sequence reviews and validation in coordination with other entities involved.
For development infill wells gathers from the Well Excellence team Pore Pressure Predictions and the integrated up-to-date Pressure Conditioning Plan. Integrates in pressure diagram the frac pressure prediction when elaborated by Drilling & Wells Entity
Supports Well Excellence in the post well review providing the static and operation view
Activity performance, reporting and supervision
Coordinates geological operations activities ensuring their pertinence, efficient implementation and quality, whilst optimizing costs to provide a timely completion of work to an acceptable technical standard.
Ensures contract release orders for relevant services are issued, monitor service quality, conduct technical approval of invoices and compiles data acquisition costs.
Ensure regular contact with Services Companies (Mud logging, LWD, Wireline, coring). Leads the preparation of Services Quality Meetings and drafts associated reports.
Together with the New Wells Delivery Manager, proposes and implements relevant KPI’s for the OGP entity.
Quality Control of deliverables, final reporting
Ensures Final Geological Reports are issued in accordance with defined timelines and Quality.
Ensures updating of geological operations lessons learnt and that Return on Experience (REX) are performed.
Ensure Post well review is carried out in detail
State of The Art implementation of operations
Justifies technical analysis and recommendations regarding formation evaluation data acquisition, integrates/challenges/synthesizes multidisciplinary requirements into COMPANY documents (WSOR, Geological Programs, Final Geological Report, LCD Report);
Train/coaches/mentors junior Operations Geologists, and wellsite geologists;
Ensures that technical audits at the wellsite are performed, attend key HSE and pre-job briefings. Assist with critical operations
Positively represent COMPANY with external agencies at senior levels
Essential skills and knowledge
15 years’ experience within a Subsurface organization
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably Master’s degree (in a Geoscience / RE / PE subject)
In-depth understanding of NOC processes and entities
Strong people leader with project management skills
Cross-functional subsurface knowledge
Ability to influence and challenge senior level peers and stakeholders
Ability to communicate and engage at senior shareholder and board level
