Introduction

  • Lead and provide Technical and Construction expertise pertaining to Electrical Discipline for ONSHORE BUILDINGS & INFRASTRUCTURE COMPRESSION PROJECT – Onshore Buildings.
    • OCC (Onshore Collaborative Centre)
    • OCC (Onshore Collaborative Centre) - Substation
    • OLB (Onshore Logistic Base) and
    • OCC & OLB associated brownfield works.
  • Responsible to manage and supervise the contractor and its subcontractor works for all the Electrical related construction activities.
  • Ensure that the Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • As part of the Construction management team led by Head of Construction, Support for construction execution, risk-based evaluation of complex technical issues, ensuring construction deliverables (Method Statements / JSA & JHA) are compliant with project requirements, while meeting required LNG quality expectations.
  • Must be able to manage the respective priorities, drivers and challenges of the stakeholders while maintaining focus on their respective objectives.
  • Ensure there is quality, effectiveness and consistency in the Construction processes, systems, procedures, and work products.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient balanced resources and technical expertise available to support the Construction Execution.
  • Ensure there is efficiency in resource deployment to support the Construction Execution activities.
  • Manage multiple internal and external interfaces across Qatar Contractors - require effective communication, initiative, flexibility, and collaboration.
  • Supervise and monitoring the construction activities involved in Electrical works and ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications and the approved construction sequence and a seamless transition with the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for leading various building construction scopes which involves construction activities such as Electrical related both Greenfield and brownfield works.
  • Ensure that the Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible and accountable to review, comment, and approve construction execution related procedures, specifications, and deliverables prepared by the Contractor.
  • Supervise and handle the responsibilities of I&C/T discipline in absence of concerned superintendent and supervisor.
  • Monitors and reports progress of various construction activities against agreed schedule.
  • Monitors and appraises Contractor(s)' organization, planning, execution, and controls, and drives improvement plans to close gaps in performance.
  • Working effectively within established procedures and participates in all important meetings and workshops (e.g., weekly, and monthly meetings, 3D Model reviews, Constructability, Construction and Completion Sequence (reviews).
  • Bring execution solutions that favour safe construction execution and transition to Commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge-expert on safe work practices (SWP) and procedures related to construction (e.g., Work Management System (WMS), Permit-to-Work (PTW), RLIC CPW & eCPW and PTW & ePTW Systems etc.
  • Actively engage as required and appropriate with LNG Operations to solicit input, provide feedback and seek alignment on construction execution plans/activities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in construction as a leadership and supervisory role.
  • 8 years experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction of industrial buildings i.e. Administration buildings, Substations, Control Rooms, Brownfield related works, Warehouses, large scale workshops with machinery etc., design standards, specifications, codes, appropriate safety criteria, with overall responsibility for construction execution of medium to large scale projects.
  • Expert in reading MRs, MARs, Datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and procedures.
  • Experience in supporting projects execution, engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
  • Knowledge in compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, and contract technical specification compliance.
  • Working experience in Qatar and Ras Laffan Industrial City especially in Brownfield is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and technical judgment skills.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Make decisions in the Project general interest while pursuing business results.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Advanced computer literacy.
