Introduction

  • The Construction Lead (HVAC) shall provide Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC) oversight and direction to the project’s main contractor, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Effectively collaborates and interfaces with facilities team and contractor engineers and operations personnel.
  • Provides coverage for multiple workshops, shop inspections and factory testing when and where required.
  • Function as the HUC Lead (HVAC) for the design, risk-based evaluation of technical issues, ensuring detailed design deliverables are compliant with project requirements and contract while meeting required LNG quality expectations.
  • Drive and coordinate the delivery of discipline deliverables in accordance with project requirements from contractor.
  • Function as the (HVAC) and field Instrumentation HUC expert providing oversight and review of HUC documentation.
  • Conduct analysis of technical proposals and proposed deviations, assess exceptions and new technologies to ensure compliance with LNG policies and procedures.
  • Act as HUC focal point offshore, to verify contractors HVAC hook-up and commissioning complies with project deliverables and commissioning requirements.

What are you going to do

  • Support PMT by reviewing critical documents and reports generated by the main subcontractor. Attend workshops/review meetings when requested.
  • Analyze technical proposals and proposed deviations, assess exceptions and new technologies to ensure compliance with LNG policies and procedures.
  • Apply lessons learned from previous projects and share new ones with other Contractors.
  • Support the qualifications of new suppliers proposed for the project, suppliers that are not on the approved vendor’s list.
  • Assesses Contractor’s manpower loading and provide timely recommendations to project team and be available to backfill needs as required.
  • Support the engineering team to stay on schedule to meet all critical milestones (long lead item (LLI) procurement, engineered equipment procurement; required on site (ROS) dates, etc.); develop and stewards recovery plans to address any schedule delays.
  • Witnesses Contractors scope of work and signs off test and check sheets as per project requirements.
  • Verify that the Contractor’s reports are accurate with regards to progress reporting.
  • Cooperate with review teams and take part in quality audit activities throughout the project.
  • Report findings accurately and provide plans to address issues when required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or engineering.
  • 8 years experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service / vendor personnel.
  • In depth knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, appropriate safety criteria, offshore facilities and discipline design, construction, operations and engineering administration.
  • Knowledge and experience in discipline hook-up and commissioning delivery processes and associated project phases, familiar with completions walkdowns and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
  • Experience in an HVAC role for large contracts, with strong HVAC commissioning/technical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in testing and balancing (TAB) activities
  • Advanced knowledge in performance testing of fans and air handling units to ensure design specs are met.
  • Advanced knowledge of refrigeration system commissioning.
  • Experience in room integrity testing.
  • Knowledge of Fluorinated Gas (F-gas) regulations.
  • Experience with AHI Carrier & Wozair equipment
  • Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
  • Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
  • Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
  • Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
  • Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Able to identify and analyze complex issues and provide recommendations.
  • Execute work in full compliance with LNG Standards of Business Conduct and LNG Project Management System.
