Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a leading Pilbara mining operation to find an experienced Shotfirer ready to take on a permanent, long-term opportunity. This is your chance to join a high-performing Drill and Blast team where your skills truly matter.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of safe and efficient blasting operations from handling and firing explosives to managing magazine inventory and directing blast operators on the bench. You'll work closely with Drill and Blast Engineers, bringing your technical expertise and attention to detail to every shot fired.

About this role

As a Shotfirer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations by:

  • Safely handling, loading, and firing explosives in accordance with blast plans and legislation

  • Conducting on-bench activities, stemming, and inspection of equipment and blast areas

  • Operating stemming trucks and using electronic detonators and firing units

  • Conducting stocktakes of explosives and managing magazine inventory

  • Ensuring all explosives have detonated post-blast and recording usage

  • Providing direction to blast operators and working closely with Drill and Blast Engineers

  • Maintaining full compliance with the Explosives Management Plan (EMP), Dangerous Goods Safety Regulations, and other statutory requirements

  • Supporting continuous improvement, safety initiatives, and contributing to a positive site culture

Is this you?

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • A Current WA Manual C-Class Driver's Licence

  • Dangerous Goods Security Card and Shotfirer Authorisation

  • Clean National Police Clearance (DG and Blast Secure Nominee eligibility)

  • Demonstrated blasting experience in open-cut mining environments

  • Experience operating MPU, small loaders, and stemming equipment preferred

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work safely, collaboratively, and independently
