Introduction

A well-established ASX listed organisation operating a portfolio of critical asset operations is seeking a Head of Operations to join its leadership team.

This role is accountable for the overall performance of a complex operational portfolio, with responsibility for safety, reliability, cost, and sustainable operational outcomes across multiple sites and regions.

About this role

Created as part of an organisational refresh, the position plays a key role in strengthening leadership capability, improving safety and performance, and building a high-performing, inclusive operating culture. The successful Head of Operations will have the opportunity to lead with autonomy and implement improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for operational safety, risk management, cost control, and performance outcomes
  • Lead and support senior operational leaders across a geographically dispersed portfolio
  • Foster a strong safety culture through visible, consistent leadership
  • Enable teams to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational discipline
  • Partner collaboratively with engineering, planning, and commercial teams
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational matters

Is this you?

  • Experience leading complex operations within Oil & Gas, energy or other asset-intensive environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams across multiple locations
  • A people-centred leader who builds capability, engagement, and accountability
  • Comfortable operating in safety-critical, performance-focused environments
  • Collaborative and coaching-oriented leadership approach
  • Able to influence across technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders
