Introduction

A leading tier-one mining business is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor (Main Roads) to join their project delivery team on a major infrastructure development in Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on civil professional with proven Main Roads WA experience to contribute to a high-profile project on a short-term contract through to February 2026. This is a FIFO role on a 12:9 roster

About this role

As the Civils Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day civil construction operations, manage subcontractor performance, and support the delivery of critical project milestones. You'll act as the key link between site crews, engineering, HSE, and project leadership-ensuring all works meet Main Roads WA standards and align with project objectives.

This position is well suited to a motivated supervisor with a strong background in earthworks, drainage, pavements, and structural concrete, and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate civil construction activities in accordance with project schedule and Main Roads WA specifications.
  • Manage subcontractors, plant, equipment, and materials to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Lead daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
  • Monitor progress and report on performance, risks, and issues to the Project Manager / Construction Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, environmental standards, and quality requirements.
  • Champion and reinforce a strong safety culture across all site teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, HSE, and commercial teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Assist in identifying scope changes, variations, and opportunities for operational improvement.

Is this you?

  • Demonstrated experience working on Main Roads WA projects (essential).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience supervising civil works on major road or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, pavements, and structural concrete.
  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to manage subcontractors and drive team performance.
  • Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and contemporary safety systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Certificates in Civil Supervision, Construction, or Site Leadership (desirable).
  • You must have current rights to work in Australia to be considered for this role.
