About this role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of plant and equipment across multiple workshop locations. You'll work closely with project, engineering, and workshop teams to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and safe delivery outcomes.

  • Leading plant strategy to maximise utilisation, availability, and operational efficiency
  • Driving continuous improvement in performance, fuel efficiency, and downtime reduction
  • Oversee workshops in Brisbane and Perth
  • Managing budgets, capital expenditure, and lifecycle planning for plant assets
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance programs to minimise breakdowns and delays
  • Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Managing procurement of plant, parts, and specialised equipment
  • Building strong supplier relationships and overseeing inventory and critical spares
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to workshop and maintenance teams across multiple sites
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project delivery and safety standards
  • Advising senior leadership on plant capability, innovation, and future investment

Is this you?

  • Extensive experience managing heavy plant, ideally within tunnelling or large-scale civil projects
  • Hands-on experience with TBM equipment on drainage and sewer infrastructure projects
  • Proven success in plant optimisation, maintenance planning, and cost control
  • Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience across multidisciplinary teams
  • Solid commercial acumen across budgeting, procurement, and asset lifecycle management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with CMMS and asset management systems (highly regarded)
  • Relevant engineering or asset management qualifications (desirable)
