Introduction

Join a leading global engineering and construction firm on a landmark energy project based in Chiswick. This 12-month renewable contract offers a hybrid working model with 3 days in office and 2 days WFH. We seek a Senior Principal Cost Controls Specialist to drive cost management excellence on one of the industry's most complex ventures.

What are you going to do

Resposibilities:

  • The Senior Principal Cost Controls Specialist plays a vital role in resolving complex cost challenges that impact project delivery.
  • As a recognised expert in Cost Management, you will influence programme direction and resource allocation within established policies and industry standards.
  • Your innovative and strategic approach will be essential in developing creative solutions to costing issues, ensuring financial and contractual integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpreting contracts, supporting project execution plans, coordinating financial and administrative tasks, monitoring costs and revenues, negotiating contract changes, leading change management, managing project risks and opportunities, and preparing close-out reports.
  • You will collaborate closely with Project Accounting and other project control teams to enhance accuracy and efficiency, while supporting bid efforts and maintaining adherence to corporate systems and processes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in project control, preferably within large-scale engineering projects
  • Proven supervisory experience in a matrix organisation
  • Strong background in the oil and gas sector or comparable heavy industry
  • Proficient with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
