Introduction

What are you going to do

  • Perform Completion Engineering studies to ensure optimum completions are designed;
  • Perform Plug and Abandonment studies to ensure optimum integrity and efficiency;
  • Provide technical expertise in completion operations including selection, design, planning and execution;
  • Deliver timely and accurate assigned completions and workover procedures that comply with applicable policies, standards and processes and industry best practices;
  • Provide operational and engineering technical support to Field supervisors and assist the Field supervisors in the decision-making process, planning, and forecasting;
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environment requirements are integral to all aspects of the work;
  • Ensure all assigned activities comply with Company standards and best industry practices;
  • Specify and select completion well stimulation, testing and well intervention related equipment adapted to the well operating conditions;
  • Verify equipment Quality Assurance and Quality Control documents comply with contractual requirements and are fit for the well operating conditions;
  • Ensure all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learnt are captured for the benefit of future company operations;
  • Work closely with Reservoir and Production Engineering personnel to ensure well requirements are delivered;
  • Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and service companies;
  • Support Wells Operations in supplier performance management;
  • Manage the cost cycle through Statement of Requirements, Authorization for expenditure, execution, supplements, and invoice resolution;
  • Foster personal development by making regular field visits for execution of assigned well programs;
  • Seek and follow up on the use of new technology that has the potential to improve productivity, reduce costs and/or enhance safety performance;
  • Participate in daily wells operations calls and morning meetings;
  • Identify and capture performance improvement opportunities;
  • Plan for future wells and ensure required materials and services are available in country and allocated as required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, mechanical or petroleum engineering are preferred;
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ completions and workover experience for oil and gas wells with a major operator;
  • A strong track record as a Completion Engineer including expertise in completion design;
  • Track record on plug and abandonments, including planning, design and execution;
  • Work experience in the Middle East and North Africa region preferred;
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with teams;
  • High proficiency with Information Technology and industry software including Tubing Movement Modelling, nodal analysis, torque and drag;
  • A natural desire to work with a sense of urgency and critical thinking;
  • The capability to change and generate process improvements for greater effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Strength of character, including the highest levels of honesty, integrity, ethics, professionalism, trust, and loyalty;
  • A hands-on employee who can also see the big picture;
  • The agility and flexibility to work in a fast-paced company culture;
  • Self-aware with excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
