Our client is dedicated to developing renewable energy systems and implementing carbon-neutral strategies. We are seeking an experienced Renewable Manager to join our client’s team and lead the development of renewables and sustainable energy systems across our clients electrical network.

What are you going to do

As the Renewable Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the energy and development of renewable energy projects, as well as implementing sustainable energy solutions with our electrical network. You will lead the design, planning, and execution of initiatives related to carbon-neutral strategies, distribution systems, generation options, and storage technologies. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong engineering background and passion for sustainable energy.

  • Provides expert advice and direction to the Head of Airport Electrical Network & Strategy and Chief Operating Officer on renewables and sustainable energy systems
  • Oversee and provide direction to our clients on all renewables and sustainable energy systems development.
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders on all renewables and sustainable energy management matters as required.
  • Investigation, justification, and preparation of project funding requests, and PPAs for renewables and sustainable energy management systems.
  • Stakeholder interface and relationship management on renewables and sustainable energy management system matters.
  • Ongoing development and management of renewables and sustainable energy management related standards and policies as part of Electrical Network and Energy System Operation

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree qualified engineer with 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with transmission and distribution network disciplines LV, HV, EHV (power system modelling, asset management planning, design and planning, protection, commissioning, project management, safety system operation, network operation, metering, SCADA, comms).
  • Experience with electricity generation, energy storage technologies and renewable systems (solar, BESS, diesel, hydrogen, EV) at Commercial and Utility scale operation.
  • Knowledge of energy market operations and fundamentals (PPAs, energy tariffs, wholesale market, energy despatch, energy import/export).
  • Knowledge of emerging electrical network and energy system technologies and markets.
  • Experience and or knowledge of managing HV/LV electricity connection approvals and generation access applications.
  • Familiarity with GIS/Spatial environment and asset management data capture and control.
