Location: Spring, TX - position will transition to Midland, TX in 2027. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Midland as part of the assignment.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Project Quality Plan within the assigned scope of work and ensuring quality requirements are effectively incorporated throughout project execution. This position provides quality leadership through training, surveillance planning, monitoring, auditing, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role may also temporarily assume Procurement Quality Coordinator (PQC) or Site Quality Coordinator (SQC) responsibilities until dedicated resources are assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote quality awareness and quality culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure appropriate quality control processes are established and effectively implemented within the project team, in accordance with the Project Plan and Project Quality Plan.
  • Develop and implement Surveillance Plans and oversee execution of surveillance programs through monitoring and audit activities.
  • Provide oversight of contractor quality programs and ensure compliance with project requirements, including:

- Approve contractor quality organizations and monitor the performance of key Quality Assurance personnel.

- Review contractor quality requirements included in contracts and purchase orders.

- Review and approve contractor Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

- Conduct periodic assessments of contractor activities to evaluate implementation of quality management systems.

- Participate in the qualification and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.

- Ensure contractor surveillance activities are aligned with established criticality ratings.

- Review contractor audit schedules, monitor audit programs, and participate in selected audits.

- Review quality plans for critical equipment and material suppliers in coordination with procurement quality personnel.

- Verify contractor quality reporting is completed in accordance with contractual requirements.

- Monitor and audit procurement and construction surveillance activities.

  • Provide quality-related training and guidance as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate project audit schedules, conduct site audits, and support broader project audit activities.
  • Review engineering, procurement, and construction quality metrics to identify concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Support the selection of site quality coordinators and inspection personnel.
  • Administer procurement and construction surveillance programs until dedicated coordinators are assigned.
  • Review and assist with the quality components of project closeout and turnover documentation.
  • Communicate quality concerns, project status, and key metrics to Project Management and Quality Leadership.
  • Drive resolution of quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure best practices and lessons learned are implemented, captured, and shared across projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting quality assurance and quality control activities for field construction and project completions.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Relevant technical certifications aligned with professional experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support project sites.
  • Experience in quality management roles supporting oil and gas facility projects.
  • Experience coordinating and administering project quality programs and systems.
  • Extensive experience auditing quality management systems.
  • Experience working with global contractors and suppliers involved in production facility projects.
  • Previous experience supporting major production facility projects from an owner/operator perspective is preferred.
  • Experience supporting project completions, turnover activities, and associated documentation.
  • Professional qualifications or certifications in auditing and inspection disciplines are preferred.
