Introduction
- We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the successful execution of engineering, construction, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects in Oman.
- The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
What are you going to do
- Lead the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and client expectations.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and budgets.
- Review project KPIs, cost reports, forecasts, and productivity metrics.
- Identify schedule delays and cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure effective change management and variation control processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners.
- Resolve project-related issues and ensure timely decision-making.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop project personnel.
- Review and administer contracts to ensure compliance with commercial obligations.
- Evaluate contractor performance and manage subcontractor activities.
- Monitor project expenditures and approve project-related costs.
- Support claims management, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Identify project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor risk registers and ensure proactive management of critical issues.
- Ensure full compliance with company, client, and regulatory HSE requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and project procedures.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and management reviews.
- Coordinate procurement activities for long-lead equipment and materials.
- Monitor vendor performance and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of project resources and materials.
- Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities.
- Ensure completion of punch lists and project documentation.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and project closeout reports.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Master's Degree in Project Management or Business Administration is advantageous.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
- PRINCE2, IPMA, PMI-SP, or equivalent project management certifications are advantageous.
- HSE-related certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are beneficial.
- Minimum 10-15 years of project management experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure, or Industrial Projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
- Experience working in Oman & GCC countries is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary project teams and contractors.
- Strong exposure to project commissioning and handover activities.
- Project planning and scheduling; Cost control & budget management.
- Risk assessment and mitigation; Contract administration and commercial management.
- Construction and commissioning management; Procurement and vendor management.
- Project controls and performance reporting; Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream) LNG Facilities
- Refining & Petrochemicals; Power Generation & Transmission
- Water & Desalination Projects; Pipeline and Infrastructure Projects
