What are you going to do

We're partnering with a leading infrastructure and utilities organisation to recruit an experienced Project HSE Advisor to support capital works and construction projects at the Perth Desalination Plant in Naval Base.

Reporting into the HSE leadership team, you'll provide practical, day-to-day safety support across active construction projects, working closely with supervisors, engineers and contractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with legislative requirements.

You'll spend the majority of your time in the field, building relationships, identifying risks and helping project teams deliver safe outcomes.

  • Provide practical HSE advice to project teams and contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety observations and audits.
  • Support SWMS, JHAs, permits and risk assessments.
  • Monitor contractor compliance and high-risk work activities.
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, pre-starts and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Support project HSE plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
  • 3+ years' experience in a construction or capital projects HSE role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation.
  • Experience with contractor management and high-risk construction activities.
  • Experience developing or reviewing SWMS, JHAs and permit systems.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Incident investigation experience (ICAM, TapRooT or similar highly regarded).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience within utilities, water, civil or infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
