Introduction

An exciting opportunity is available for a Privacy Specialist to join a growing technology organisation and play a key role in strengthening privacy, fraud management, compliance, and information security capabilities across the business. Reporting to the Information Security Lead, you will support the ongoing development and operation of the organisation's privacy and fraud management frameworks.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and continuous improvement of privacy and fraud management programs
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and maintain privacy records and documentation
  • Assist with privacy incident management, investigations and breach response activities
  • Support fraud risk assessments, fraud control processes and incident management
  • Contribute to compliance and accreditation projects, including audit preparation and evidence gathering
  • Review product, platform and business changes for privacy and compliance impacts
  • Develop and deliver privacy and fraud awareness training
  • Prepare reports, metrics and governance documentation
  • Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Security, Technology and Product teams

Essential skills and knowledge 

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Previous experience operating within a privacy, compliance, risk or governance function
  • Strong understanding of Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), privacy regulations and privacy management practices
  • Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and supporting data breach response activities
  • Exposure to fraud management, fraud control frameworks or risk management programs
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical, documentation and reporting capabilities
  • Experience with ISO 27701, GDPR or privacy management frameworks
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and PSPF

Highly Regarded

  • Exposure to fraud control frameworks such as AS 8001
  • IAPP membership or certification
  • Experience working in technology, digital identity, financial services or other data-intensive environments
  • Experience with Vanta or similar governance/compliance platforms
