Introduction

  • Oversight of the hook-up activities associated with the piping and structural aspect of all greenfield offshore facilities. This will require interaction with the offshore construction teams as well as onshore construction teams in Karimun and Qcon ensuring timely preparation for the execution of the work as well as supporting the offshore campaigns in any capacity required to achieve Hook-up and Mechanical Completion of the Facilities;
  • Onshore based non-rotational role. Will require some offshore work and business travel particularly Karimun Jakarta fabrication yard;
  • Operating within established structures, procedures, standards and methodologies, utilizes analytical, interpretative, constructive thinking, and evaluative judgement to address complex discipline specific and multi-discipline problems in relation to offshore/ onshore execution and isolation requirements;
  • Requires developing work methods from several alternative options in accordance with established programs, procedures and professional standards to ensure work can be executed.

What are you going to do

  • Participate, review, and provide input into hook-up design, documents and reviews related to piping and structural constructability;
  • Review and ensure Contractor execution plan, scope, documentation, work packs and other construction execution related activities adequately cover the needs for safe and effective execution offshore;
  • Actively support fabrication and construction activities in Karimun, remotely and in the yard to ensure hook-up scope is fully accounted for, has been appropriately planned, and reflects the planned construction completion prior to sail away;
  • Monitor yard piping and structural construction progress to identify potential, and quantify actual, carry over scope;
  • Oversee Contractor materials management for fabrication and erection required for hook-up including coordination for spools and erection materials between Karimun and Qcon yards and site;
  • Ensure Contractor systems completions documentation fully accounts for the piping and structural hook-up scope as defined up to mechanical completion;
  • Actively support offshore construction activities from home office and offshore as required, providing field engineering and technical guidance on site queries and resolution of site issues and concerns;
  • Play an active role in system walk downs, punch listing, and other construction and completions related activities necessary for Mechanical Completion and system handover;
  • Be responsible for Contractor following piping and structural execution plan. Particularly with respect to hydrotesting and hydrotest waiver procedures. Follow construction execution progress to ensure accurate reporting and maintaining planned completion.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or suitable equivalent;
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical & supervisory roles in oil and gas related projects in the field of engineering design and construction, preferably with major international IOCs, with broad and extensive knowledge of industry standards, codes & specifications, appropriate safety criteria, offshore facilities piping and structure design; construction; hook-up and completions;
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills;
  • Strong technical, analytical and interface skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Lotus notes etc. and experience of project management systems.
