What are you going to do

We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer with a strong machining background to support the development, qualification, and continuous improvement of machining processes for complex engineered components.

The role will focus on CNC machining, milling, turning, EDM, and related manufacturing processes, working closely with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve process capability, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement machining processes for new and existing components.
  • Support the introduction, testing, and qualification of CNC and other machining equipment.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve quality, efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot machining and process-related issues.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead problem-solving and corrective-action activities using structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
  • Drive initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase process reliability.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve workflows and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Support process risk assessments and quality improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate process documentation, work instructions, and technical standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to machinists, operators, and technicians.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure machining activities meet required safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on machining or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong practical experience with CNC machining, particularly 3-axis milling and/or turning.
  • Experience with EDM or other precision machining processes is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of tooling, fixtures, machining parameters, and manufacturing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems and basic metrology/inspection techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with production, engineering, quality, and other cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with complex or high-value engineered components.
  • Background in repair, overhaul, refurbishment, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to machining process qualification and new equipment implementation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality improvement methodologies.
