What are you going to do

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Engineer to lead HVAC engineering and commissioning activities for FPSO, offshore, marine, and oil & gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HVAC design reviews, package engineering, testing and commissioning activities, vendor coordination, and project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in FPSO, offshore platforms, shipyard projects, and oil & gas facilities, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors. The role is closely aligned with candidates who have extensive experience in HVAC engineering, project execution, FAT/SAT, and commissioning of offshore facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HVAC engineering activities for FPSO, offshore, marine, petrochemical, and oil & gas projects.
  • Review and approve HVAC engineering deliverables, calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical documentation.
  • Manage HVAC equipment packages from design through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, shipyards, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Develop and review testing and commissioning procedures, schedules, turnover dossiers, and handover documentation.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and resource requirements to ensure timely execution.
  • Resolve technical and site issues while maintaining compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the HVAC discipline.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of HVAC engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Lead HVAC Engineer or equivalent leadership role.
  • Proven experience in FPSO, offshore oil & gas, marine, or petrochemical projects.
  • Strong experience in testing, commissioning, start-up, and HVAC system performance verification.
  • Experience managing HVAC packages and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Experience working within EPC, EPCIC, offshore operators, shipyards, or engineering consultancies.
