Introduction

  • Perform all hydraulic fracture engineering duties related to the assigned onshore wells, including planning and specifying hydraulic fracturing equipment and materials, completion equipment and services, and preparing the long term material forecast to deliver fit for purpose completions in the most economical manner and with the highest regard for all HSE issues.
  • Arrange for all hydraulic fracturing and completion services and ensure that all contractors are aware of the completion schedule and when their services are required to deliver efficient and problem free completion operations.
  • Monitor the operations on the assigned wells and maintain close liaison with the Hydraulic Fracturing Operations Engineer, Operations Engineers and service companies.
  • Recommend any revisions required to the completion program to ensure the completion objectives are met and that costs are maintained with budget. Participate in compiling lessons learned and after action reviews to support continuous improvement of operations.
  • Supervise the operations at the well site during the hydraulic fracturing operations, well clean out, flow back and running of the completion equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of tender documents for contracts relating to completion services or equipment and participate in the technical evaluation of tenders to ensure that new contracts are based on appropriate technical specifications and that contractors are technically acceptable.
  • Note: Duties are performed at the onshore wells locations and at the office in Dukhan.

What are you going to do

Preferable Experience and Expertise

  • Experience with hydrogen sulphide well designs and safety practices.
  • Knowledge of tendering and contracting procedures and practices.
  • Experience with hydraulic fracturing, clean out, flow back and completion operations in hydraulically fractured wells
  • Experience in working with standard Drilling Engineering software (EDM)
  • Knowledge of drilling engineering software including: Compass; Well Plan; WellCat; and Openwells or equivalent industry packages
  • Experience with a major service company who specialize in hydraulic fracture stimulation, clean out, flow back and completions
  • Willing to carry out other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • BSc. in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline plus relevant technical courses in completion design, drilling operations, wellhead design and well control.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • IWCF L4 Intervention certification
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in Oil & Gas industry include minimum of 10 years’ experience in hydraulic fracturing and onshore operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a major IOC or NOC.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and in writing)
  • Energy and enthusiasm for delivering a “problem free” operation.
  • Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.
  • Ability to coach and support Qatari Development staff
