Introduction

  • Manage and direct delivery of all aspects of the commissioning phases and multidisciplinary commissioning teams, providing leadership, guidance and support to the management team throughout engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and operational handover.

What are you going to do

  • Direct commissioning activities across all project phases to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery of engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and operational handover.
  • Review and evaluate contractor commissioning strategies, procedures, technical reports, execution methodologies and commissioning deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual obligations and LNG requirements.
  • Determine and implement commissioning priorities, execution strategies and resource requirements to support achievement of project milestones and operational readiness objectives.
  • Coordinate commissioning interfaces between Engineering, Construction, Systems Completions, Operations, contractors, vendors and specialist service providers to ensure effective project execution.
  • Assess and validate contractor commissioning capability, organizational structure, manpower loading and specialist vendor resources, providing recommendations to optimize commissioning performance and project delivery.
  • Ensure delivery of critical commissioning milestones including Systemization, Ready on Site (ROS), Mechanical Completion (MC), Ready for Commissioning (RFC), Ready for Startup (RFSU), startup, performance testing and operational handover.
  • Review and validate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), package testing, integrated systems testing and critical commissioning activities to confirm compliance with approved procedures, technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Evaluate commissioning progress, systems completion status, preservation activities, startup readiness and commission performance reporting to identify risks, determine corrective actions and ensure operational readiness.
  • Represent the Commissioning function during project reviews, technical meetings, management reviews, audits and stakeholder engagements, ensuring commissioning objectives, risks and priorities are effectively communicated.
  • Uphold commissioning governance, company standards and industry best practices, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant transition of facilities from project execution to Operations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelors Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
  • 10 years' experience in various project phases such as engineering, procurement, and construction, within large-scale commissioning projects in the oil and gas industry, including 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • In depth knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, appropriate safety criteria, offshore facilities and discipline design, construction, operations and engineering administration.
  • Knowledge and experience in discipline commissioning delivery processes and associated project phases, familiar with completions walkdowns and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
  • Experience in a senior commissioning role for large contracts, with strong commissioning / technical skills, greenfield, brownfield projects and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
  • Experience in project completions and project systemization, including check sheet development, check sheet allocation, writing of pre-commissioning / commissioning documents such as commissioning procedures and method statements.
  • Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies.
  • Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
