Introduction

  • Responsible for providing Company oversight to the Onshore Project Contractors in the operation and maintenance of their construction camps to ensure the Contractors are providing a living standard in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and properly managing worker welfare.

What are you going to do

  • Responsible for monitoring the operation and maintenance of all camps operated by a third party that will house Company's Contractors personnel, so as working closely with SHES teams on all applicable aspects.
  • Responsible for reporting to the line management on corrective actions required in the camps, site Field Operation Centers and site mess halls.
  • Ensures the Camp Operators implement and sustain Safety and Quality programs as it relates to operations and maintenance activities including adherence to industrial hygiene standards.
  • Oversees and stewards all camp services, operations and maintenance that are managed by the Contractors and their Subcontractors within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Maintains an active Project Management Team role in all aspects of worker accommodation to ensure Contractors' and Subcontractors' compliance with project contractual requirements, LNG objectives and adherence to RLIC camp requirements.
  • Provides Onshore Projects input and oversight of the Contractor's management of its camp budgets especially as it relates to operation and maintenance activities, ensuring necessary operations and maintenance activities take place.
  • Supports the Contractors' reporting, investigation, and resolution of camp SHE incidents in coordination with the SHES Department.
  • Assesses the requirements for on-site catering facilities and stewards their operation with the Contractors in accordance with international standards.
  • Provides oversight and guidance of the Contractors' camp programs to meet Onshore Projects and RLC requirements.
  • Develops and provides routine reports on the status of camp operations to the reporting lines, including manpower forecasting and availability of camp accommodation.
  • Supports the Onshore Projects Welfare Team in Camp Welfare Committee Meetings, Camp Food Committee Meetings and other external Camp-related meetings.
  • Works in collaboration with Contractors to provide a united project position with RLIC. Chairs weekly Camps Management meeting including all Camp Bosses.
  • Supports the Onshore Projects interfacing with RLIC for all camp and site related services including common amenities access and usage, emergency services, security, medical, catering, sewage treatment, water, power and waste management.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (e.g. Humanities or Business) or Engineering.
  • Ten (10) years' experience with Large Projects in the Oil & Gas Industry, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry in Camp Operations and Maintenance with experience, preferably as a Camp Boss or equivalent type position.
  • Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
  • Thorough understanding the international system to prevent food safety issues (HACCP).
  • Proven direct-team leadership and experience of providing leadership to a community of multiple Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
