Introduction

  • On site control of any rigging and lifting required within Mesaieed Operations, carry out inspection and maintenance of all lifting equipment as per the instruction from his supervisor to act in the general running of the lifting tackle store.

What are you going to do

  • Carry out inspection and maintenance of all lifting equipment in the general running of the lifting tackle store.
  • Maintains and tests all lifting equipment according to COMPANY lifting procedures and international lifting standards where applicable under the instruction of his supervisor and to have the ability to give instructions to the maintenance contractor in repairing the equipment when necessary and prepare the equipment for testing or inspection by the TP when required.
  • Supervises the laborer charge hand and up to five laborers in general duties concerning Mechanical Section within the Mesaieed Operations in lifting activities.
  • Advises and Supervise on any lifting or equipment whenever required and perform supervision as acting general foreman, follow the approved generic and critical lifting plans in line with COMPANY procedures.
  • Reads and understands the lifting plans and execute the job as per the approved lifting Plan.
  • Advises his supervisor for any spares or replacement equipment required.
  • Ensures good housekeeping of the lifting tackle store and the lifting equipment store internally and externally, and the surrounding areas of the equipment being used.
  • Enforces all Corporation Safety Standards relating to the use of lifting and the use of relevant safety equipment.
  • Qualify COMPANY’s ‘Permit to Work’ (PTW) system. Apply, obtain and follow COMPANY’s PTW procedures.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 7 years related experience in Oil and Gas Industry in the similar field.
  • High School plus 2 years Trade Training.
  • Good knowledge of oral and written English.
  • COMPANY endorsed valid certification in Rigging & Slinging from COMPANY approved third party certifying authority in full knowledge and use of lifting tackle and equipment.
  • Permit to Work Authority, Complete training course and examination.
  • Qatar Traffic Department – Holder of a Light Vehicle Driving License
