Introduction
Brunel has an exciting long-term contract opportunity for an Electrical Lead Commissioning supporting our client who is a leading global mining and metals company.
This contract position will work on-site in Bagdad, Arizona, the working week is Monday through Friday, on a 4-week on-site/1-week at home not working rotational schedule. Travel accommodations, transportation, and a monthly stipend will be included.
What are you going to do
The Electrical Lead Commissioning is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure safe, reliable, and timely energization and operation of electrical systems.
This role covers medium and low voltage systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, power distribution networks, and electrical protection systems. The Electrical Lead ensures all systems are tested, commissioned, and handed over in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Education
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) or 5 years of equivalent field experience.
Experience
- Minimum 10-15 years of electrical engineering experience
- At least 5 years in commissioning leadership roles
- Experience in large-scale EPC projects (mining, oil & gas, power, smelting, or industrial plants)
- Proven involvement in system energization and plant start-up
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Effective communication and coordination
- Ability to work under pressure during critical energization phases.

If candidate is not local to the area, client will provide accommodations and travel for a 4 week on, 1 week off not working rotation, along with monthly stipend for living expenses.
