What are you going to do

With a strong pipeline of projects in both renewable and conventional generation, our client are expanding their Electrical Engineering team in Perth and seeking motivated individuals who thrive in technically challenging, hands-on design environments. Working across the full project lifecycle-from concept through to commissioning-you'll contribute to the design, documentation, and coordination of electrical systems for our power stations and related infrastructure.

  • Develop and produce detailed electrical schematics, single line diagrams (SLDs), comms blocks, bills of materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and switchboard/distribution layouts.

  • Undertake and review electrical design calculations and reports, including cable sizing, protection coordination, earthing, arc flash, and lightning protection.

  • Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, and workshop/site teams to ensure designs are practical, safe, and buildable.

  • Support the continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and CAD systems.

  • Provide input into design reviews, equipment selection, and design integration across disciplines.

Essential skills and knowledge 

You'll bring a solid understanding of electrical systems and how they connect in real-world installations-whether that's from a trade background with design experience or as an engineer who's spent time on the tools or in the field.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Experience in power generation, electrical distribution, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Hands-on understanding of how systems are wired, installed, and commissioned.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing calculations and reports in areas such as cable calcs, protection, earthing, lightning, and arc flash (experience with PowerCAD, ETAP, or similar highly regarded).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate design outcomes with real-world construction requirements.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a trade background with design experience.
