Introduction

  • Drives and operates various types of company vehicles and equipment's such as Self-Loading Boom Trucks, Diesel Oil and Propane Tankers, Potable Water Tankers, Low-bed Trailers and General Haulage Trailers and Forklift Trucks.

What are you going to do

  • Perform pre-start inspection of vehicle/associated equipment for effects and ensure proper condition. Also, shall perform before use and periodically check of associated equipment such as fittings, ropes, hooks and slings, and shall report defects if any.
  • Inspects and checks equipment for safe operation at commencement of each job/trip, includes checking of oil, water, fuel, battery, tires, brakes, cable, horn, lights, signaling equipment, hooks, ropes, sling and their fittings· and ensures their safe condition.
  • Reports directly to COMPANY Automobile Representatives
  • Washes/cleans inside and outside of equipment. Replenishes and maintains items as required.
  • Reports defects and serious malfunctions to General Foreman.
  • Follows manufacturer's operating instruction and observes load limitations.
  • May use electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic devices. Follow and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Use crane or forklift to load and unload machinery, equipment and materials within Mesaieed Operational areas, NGL plants, GDS point station and CP stations.
  • Observes any faults or failures of equipment that may be indicated by sight, sound, and loss of performance or observation of instruments. Reports any obvious unsafe defects and serious malfunction as they occur.
  • Observes all security, fire and safety rules, including the use of protective clothing and equipment, required to be trained on different safety apparatuses, observes all other safety practices and is always on the alert to any unsafe conditions.
  • Be alert to faults/equipment failure indicated by sight, sound, and loss of performance or observation of instruments/indicators. Shall immediately report defects and malfunctions.
  • Maintain daily log sheet of all activities assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by COMPANY
  • Shall insure that his third-party certifying authority certificates are kept valid at all times.
  • Shall report immediately to supervisor or his delegate any noncompliance of safety regulation or standards, any incidents involving staff or others contractor personnel and or any vehicle accident, incidents or near miss of any description.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Completion of Intermediate education (9 years).
  • 10 years experience in operation of heavy-duty vehicles and heavy equipment. Fair knowledge of English (written & spoken).
  • Skills in oil field safety awareness. Knowledge of Qatar Traffic regulations and city/national road network (for drivers). Experience in operation and regulations of lifting equipment.
  • Knowledge of COMPANY Corporate Lifting Equipment Regulation. DOC No. REG-Q-001. Latest revision or updates thereto
  • Driving License Requirements: Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle, Trailers, Forklift Truck and Knuckle Boom Truck Crane.
  • Certification in the following Equipment’s, Forklift Truck, Knuckle Boom Crane up to 9-ton capacity and Hi-Lift Man-basket, All endorsed by COMPANY PTS Department.
