Introduction

Translates design briefs and/or conceptual designs in assigned engineering discipline (Electrical /Instrument) into Design & detailed engineering drawings, schematic.
As built all drawings and documents in Technical Document Management System.
Reports to: SENIOR DESIGNER

What are you going to do

Carries out the design requirements for new development project work or plant improvements on existing facilities in assigned area of expertise (Electrical / Instrumentation).
Carry out field surveys and checking, takes measurements, amend, and prepare new drawings as required to illustrate facilities and equipment.
Carries out field surveys to update “As built” drawings of facilities. Takes appropriate measurements, amends existing drawings, and prepares new drawings to illustrate facilities and
equipment.
Updating of all available master (Core) drawings using AutoCAD software programs and documentation using Microsoft programs and checking them back.
· System as the latest ‘As-built’ edition as well as creating and uploading new drawings.
Searches vendor catalogues, previous drawings, and original equipment specification sheets to obtain necessary information as required.
Prepares various special drawings and presentations of a technical and administrative nature such as view graphs and bar charts, inclusive of producing computer generated charts and graphs.
Operates Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) computer system to input and update design data and information to produce projects drawings and to keep “as built” up to date.
Carries out Instrumentation / Electrical detailing, Control and maintain the updated tagging system of all systems.
Reviews all external drawings for completeness and generally conformity for configuration and layout.

Essential skills and knowledge

At least two years College Level with same Engineering Discipline. Or completion of Secondary
(12 years) educations followed by at least two years full time training in Draftsmanship or in an
Engineering discipline.
Advanced AutoCAD (latest version) knowledge is required, with knowledge of 3D.
Knowledge of Document Management System like Bentley ProjectWise software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Office Software is required (emphasis on Word, Excel, Access and Power Point).
At least 6 years & above of Electrical/instrument practical experience within Oil and Gas Facility (Onshore / Offshore) and Gas Distribution Stations Facility, with knowledge of applicable standard, codes, specifications, proper engineering and documentations and procedures.
The individual should possess above average communication and report writing skills.
