Brunel is currently seeking a highly motivated Contract Specialist to join our team and contribute to a prestigious gigafactory project. As a Contract specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships through skillful contract negotiations. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around implementing supplier tracking programs, proactively identifying profitable new business opportunities, coordinating testing operations across multiple sites, and ensuring contracts are executed in a timely manner. What are you going to do

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations and oversee global contracts to cultivate strong supplier relationships within a battery manufacturing facility for electric vehicles.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual contract negotiation plan, considering the unique requirements of each business unit.
  • Identify cost-effective alternatives by understanding the specific needs of each unit and making recommendations accordingly.
  • Request quotes, conduct thorough analyses, and draft contracts based on approved document models.
  • Monitor and address non-conformities, rebates, and tests related to implemented contracts, providing site-level updates.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between previous and new suppliers, closely monitoring the phase in/phase out process. • Implement standardized contract management practices across all facility sites.
  • Validate and control price changes, with a focus on long-term cost savings.
  • Conduct regular meetings with suppliers, including site visits and plant audits for key partners.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual terms and customer expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly reports highlighting key achievements, such as negotiated contracts and cost savings.
  • Stay updated on market developments and share relevant information with business units.
  • Engage in mining buying groups, forums, conferences, and tradeshows relevant to designated product categories. • Generate standardized reports for individual sites and annual budget meetings. • Proactively search for best practices and new supplier sources, initiating site-level testing to mitigate risks.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of contract management experience
  • Familiarity with EPCM project lifecycle and contract administration processes
  • Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating EPCM contracts, including scope of work, terms and conditions, and pricing agreements.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively navigate and secure favorable contract terms and conditions while aligning with company objectives and mitigating risks.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure contracts are in full compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
