Introduction

Brunel is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to support the execution of large-scale industrial construction activities in a complex project environment.

This role is responsible for providing field leadership, overseeing contractor performance, ensuring safe and efficient construction execution, and supporting the successful delivery of construction scope.

What are you going to do

* Provide visible leadership in the field and promote a strong safety culture.* Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
* Identify and resolve construction issues that may impact schedule, quality, productivity, or overall project performance.* Monitor construction progress and evaluate planned versus actual execution.
* Support the resolution of technical queries, field changes, constructability concerns, and design deviations.* Collaborate closely with contractors and project stakeholders to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Conduct field inspections and observations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.* Promote a right-first-time approach to construction quality and support successful completion and turnover activities.
* Monitor schedule performance, identify constraints and leading indicators of delay, and support recovery plans where required.* Participate in risk reviews and contribute to the identification and management of construction-related risks.
* Support integration across Construction, Engineering, Quality, HSSE, Logistics, Materials Management, and Commissioning teams.* Prepare and maintain construction reports, status updates, and field observations.
* Support mechanical completion, punch list management, and transition activities to commissioning and operations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

* Minimum 15 years of progressive construction experience within oil & gas, LNG, energy, petrochemical, or major industrial projects.* Mechanical or Civil Engineering background preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in construction supervisory or leadership positions.* Strong contractor management experience within EPC or major capital project environments.
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, execution planning, and SIMOPS.* Proven ability to identify issues proactively and develop practical solutions.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
* Experience supporting large-scale industrial construction projects.* Experience with modular construction, equipment installation, site hook-up, or LNG facilities is considered an asset.
* Experience with cryogenic systems, storage tanks, or rotating equipment installation is considered an asset.* Legally entitled to work in Canada.
* Valid driver's license required.* Willingness to work a site-based schedule, including rotational assignments, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.* Ability to successfully complete site access requirements
