This exciting opportunity, based in Talacre, North Wales, offers a 6-month contract starting ASAP, where your civil engineering expertise will contribute to sustainable and innovative developments in a dynamic environment.

What are you going to do

Responsibilities:

  • As a Civil Work Engineer, you will be responsible for performing technical design, verification, and checking activities under the guidance of the Civil and Structural Lead.
  • You will collaborate closely with Project Specialists and Designers to ensure that all works comply with budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Your role will involve preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for civil works and buildings, creating Material Take-Offs (MTO) for steel structures using advanced 3D modelling tools, and developing layouts for drainage, sewage, and plumbing systems within buildings.
  • You will also conduct foundational and concrete structure studies, verify structural BIM models in accordance with OpenBIM Best Practices, and supervise or approve engineering design and construction drawings related to civil foundations and buildings.
  • Additionally, you will implement discipline follow-up activities and provide field engineering support on site to ensure successful project delivery.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Civil Work Engineer within Oil & Gas or Energy projects
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • BIM Coordinator certification
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocode standards
  • Proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel
  • Skilled in using Mat 3D, Foundation 3D, SP3D, and Naviswork software
  • Ability to ensure quality control of all discipline project documentation, including vendor documents
  • Experience verifying structural BIM models aligned with project requirements and BIM uses
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams
