Introduction

Brunel International is seeking a Site Static Lead - Piping, Valves & Vessels (PVV) for a 12-month renewable contract based in Milan. This senior technical leadership role involves overseeing critical PVV scope on a major onshore LNG construction project in Mozambique. The position demands strong engineering expertise combined with on-site supervisory experience in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities:

  • As the Site Static Lead, you will be the senior technical authority for all PVV activities, ensuring seamless coordination across Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, and Contractor teams.
  • Your role includes interpreting engineering deliverables, validating contractor solutions, leading technical clarifications, and overseeing construction and pre-commissioning activities.
  • You will manage a team of static engineers and supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping, valves, and static equipment across complex LNG facilities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Piping, Petroleum, or equivalent discipline
  • 10 to 15+ years' experience in piping, valve, and vessel engineering on major Oil & Gas or LNG EPC megaprojects
  • Proven on-site leadership for PVV scope with strong multidisciplinary coordination skills
  • Expertise in cryogenic piping and valve systems, LNG fabrication, and testing requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of piping design, layout, materials, welding, NDE, and installation standards (ASME B31.3)
  • Experience supervising pre-commissioning activities including hydrotests, pneumatic tests, flushing, drying, and leak testing
  • Skilled in managing TQs, DERs, concessions, NCRs, and Mechanical Completion dossiers
  • Proven ability to supervise static equipment installation and vendor surveillance
  • Strong QA/QC oversight capability including ITPs, coating, FAT/MRB, and material traceability
  • Fluent English required; Portuguese or French is advantageous
