Introduction

Brunel International is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Designer specializing in FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) systems to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge offshore projects, contributing to the design and development of electrical systems critical to FPSO operations worldwide.

What are you going to do 

As a Senior Electrical Designer FPSO at Brunel International, you will be responsible for leading the electrical design efforts for FPSO projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and instrumentation engineers to deliver innovative and efficient electrical solutions. Your expertise will support the development of power distribution, lighting, control, and instrumentation systems onboard FPSOs, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and performance.

Key responsibilities include: - Developing detailed electrical design packages for FPSO projects.
- Creating and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts. - Ensuring designs meet relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinating with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. - Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior designers and engineers.
- Participating in design reviews and risk assessments.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. - Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical design for offshore oil & gas projects, specifically FPSO.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and instrumentation. - Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards like IEC, IEEE, NEC, and relevant offshore regulations. - Experience with hazardous area classifications and compliance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to travel internationally as project demands require.
