Brunel is partnering with a leading Australian OEM to recruit a motivated and solutions-focused Project Engineer.This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team delivering innovative water treatment and process equipment solutions for industrial, mining, municipal and infrastructure clients across Australia.

What are you going to do 

  • Deliver water and wastewater treatment projects from design through to commissioning.
  • Manage projects across design, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
  • Review P&IDs, GAs and project specifications.
  • Complete process and hydraulic calculations.
  • Support equipment selection, vendor reviews and procurement.
  • Lead commissioning, troubleshooting and plant optimisation.
  • Prepare functional descriptions, control philosophies, I/O lists, O&M manuals and project reports.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets and client requirements.
  • Work closely with clients, suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist with estimates, quotations and tenders.
  • Ensure projects meet HSEQ requirements and Australian Standards.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Engineering qualification in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience within water treatment, wastewater treatment, chemical processing or a related industry.
  • Experience delivering projects from concept and design through to commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Experience with P&IDs and General Arrangements.
  • Experience undertaking or reviewing process and hydraulic calculations.
  • Experience with equipment selection and procurement.
  • Experience with vendor engineering reviews and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated commissioning, troubleshooting and plant optimisation experience.
  • Ability to use process simulation or modelling software.
  • Experience working with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of project budgets, schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Experience contributing to estimates, quotations and tenders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and environmental requirements.
