What are you going to do 

We are currently partnering with our client, a leading organisation in the oil and gas sector, to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager to join our client's team in Chennai. This is a contract opportunity where you will manage the complete project procurement lifecycle for greenfield and brownfield liquid storage terminal projects, storage tanks and tank-farm piping, valves, pumps and transfer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete project procurement lifecycle for greenfield and brownfield liquid storage terminals and expansions; storage tanks and tank-farm piping, valves, pumps, and transfer systems.
  • Planning sourcing strategy, lead times, critical/long-lead items, approved-vendor requirements, budget and cash-flow needs.
  • Preparing RFQ/RFP, specifications, BOQ/SOQ/MTO, datasheets, drawings, QAP/ITP, inspection, delivery, warranty, spares, and documentation requirements.
  • Developing alternate/qualified sources to mitigate single-source and long-lead risks along with equipment and commodity trends.
  • Managing bidders, maintaining tender records, co-ordinate technical evaluation, and commercial evaluation.
  • Evaluate taxes, freight, duties, payment, warranty, delivery, escalation, exclusions, and deviations while ensuring pricing and commercial risks.
  • Lead commercial negotiation, spares and commissioning support, manufacturing, testing, and contractual deliverables; control amendments and changes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical/Civil/Electrical.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant project procurement experience, preferably Oil & Gas, petrochemicals.
  • Working knowledge of SAP/ERP/PMP procurement or equivalent is advantageous.
