Introduction

Reporting to senior leadership, this position will serve as a strategic legal advisor across corporate governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional operations supporting site activities.

What are you going to do 

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Structure, review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including procurement, EPC, joint ventures, sales/offtake, logistics, and service contracts.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Advisory: Monitor and advise on evolving Indonesian mining laws, environmental regulations, land acquisition/forestry permits, and corporate compliance standards.

  • Corporate Governance & Secretarial Support: Assist with corporate secretarial duties, board meetings, shareholder resolutions, and alignment with parent company governance frameworks.

  • Dispute Management & External Liaison: Coordinate with external legal counsel on potential disputes, arbitration, litigation, and regulatory inquiries to safeguard company interests.

  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Provide sound legal risk assessments and day-to-day counsel to operational teams, government relations, finance, and site management.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law (S.H.) from a reputable university. Master's degree (LL.M.) or advocate license (PERADI) is highly advantageous.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably combining a top-tier law firm background with in-house corporate legal roles in Mining, Energy, Resources, or Heavy Industrial sectors.

  • Core Competencies: Strong command of Indonesian mining regulations (Law No. 3/2020 and related ESDM regulations), corporate transactions, and contract management.

  • Languages: Business-fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken) with the ability to draft high-level legal documentation in both languages.
