Introduction

You'll take ownership of contractual risk across tenders and live projects, working closely with Pre-Contracts, Operations and project teams. The role is heavily focused on contract interpretation, negotiation, claims and protecting project entitlements.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead contract reviews, negotiation and risk assessment across tenders and projects.
  • Manage variations, EOTs, delay, disruption, prolongation and other contractual claims.
  • Manage contractual disputes, security of payment matters and adjudications.
  • Work with project teams to identify risk early and protect contractual entitlement.
  • Provide clear commercial recommendations to senior management.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Strong Australian construction or infrastructure contracting experience.
  • Deep construction contract interpretation, drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Proven claims and dispute management experience.
  • Strong understanding of D&C and amended client contracts.
  • Practical security of payment and adjudication experience.
  • Law degree and Australian admission preferred, although senior contracts/commercial professionals with equivalent construction-law depth will be considered.
  • Civil infrastructure, tunnelling or geotechnical experience highly regarded.
