Introduction

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing site technical functions-including mine planning, geology, geotechnical engineering, and survey-to optimize production, ensure operational safety, and align short-term site execution with long-term strategic goals.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead and manage the technical services department, overseeing mine planning, geotechnical engineering, geology, hydrogeology, and survey operations.

  • Develop, implement, and optimize short-term, medium-term, and Life-of-Mine (LOM) plans in collaboration with the operations and processing teams.

  • Ensure accurate ore control, grade reconciliation, and resource/reserve estimations in line with international reporting standards (e.g., JORC).

  • Direct geotechnical monitoring and slope stability programs to maintain safe mining conditions and mitigate operational risks.

  • Monitor production metrics, analyze technical variances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost performance.

  • Provide strategic technical counsel to Senior Management and serve as the main technical liaison for joint ventures, regulatory bodies, and external consultants.

  • Drive team development, mentoring local technical staff and fostering a proactive culture toward health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline

  • Experience: Minimum 12 years of technical mining experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role within a large-scale surface or underground mining operation (Nickel, Gold, or Copper experience in Indonesia is preferred).

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with mine planning and resource evaluation software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, Micromine, Whittle, Vulcan, or Deswik)

  • Location & Mobility: Willingness to work on a rotational schedule at a remote mine site in Sulawesi.

  • Language & Communication: Exceptional communication skills in both English and Bahasa.
