Introduction

What are you going to do 

We are seeking a Lease Operator III to support oil and gas production operations in the Carlsbad, NM area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance preparation of wells, production facilities, processing equipment, and related surface equipment.

This role will support oil, gas, and water separation facilities and requires the ability to monitor production processes, identify operating issues, perform basic equipment maintenance, and maintain safe and reliable facility operations.

Experience with new facility startup, commissioning, and production operations is highly desirable.

* Operate and monitor wells, production facilities, processing units, and related surface equipment.

* Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

* Monitor production equipment and operating conditions, including pressure, temperature, level, flow, vibration, and other critical parameters.

* Understand process flow, equipment lineups, isolation points, and facility safety systems.

* Perform routine field inspections using visual, auditory, and other observations to identify abnormal operating conditions.

* Adjust local process parameters to maintain equipment and production within the appropriate operating range.

* Issue and manage Safe Work Permits in accordance with operating and safety requirements.

* Perform gas testing and use appropriate safety monitoring equipment when required.

* Monitor tanks, meters, chemical injection systems, valves, pumps, compressors, separators, and other production equipment.

* Accurately record production data, gauge tanks, collect samples, and maintain electronic or paper gauge sheets.

* Identify leaks, freezing, overheating, abnormal equipment conditions, and other production issues.

* Perform basic equipment maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, valve packing adjustments, clearing equipment, and similar activities.

* Inspect safety equipment, including safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and gas detection equipment.

* Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities as required.

* Communicate operating conditions and production changes to the Production Foreman and other members of the operations team.

* Perform seasonal preparation, including winterization and summerization of equipment.

* Use electronic testing equipment, handheld monitoring devices, and computer-based monitoring systems.

* Maintain assigned company vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, production, reliability, and operational efficiency.

* Follow environmental policies and procedures and take appropriate action to minimize environmental impacts, including spills and unnecessary emissions.

* Work independently when required while supporting overall team objectives.

Required Qualifications

* Previous experience in a closely related oil and gas production operations position.

* College degree or trade school certificate.

* Experience operating and maintaining surface equipment associated with oil and gas production.

* Ability to work rotating schedules.

* Ability to respond to call-outs when required.

* Ability to use computers and production monitoring systems.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively with a diverse, multicultural team.

* Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

* Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and safely climb ladders and stairways.

* Ability to use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), gas detectors, and other

Essential skills and knowledge 

* Experience with oil, gas, and water separation facilities.

* Experience with production facility startup or commissioning.

* Experience operating new production facilities.

* Experience with process monitoring and production optimization.

* Experience with work permitting and gas testing.

* Experience with upstream oil and gas operations.

Work Schedule

8 days on / 6 days off

10 hour day shifts
