Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Advisor to provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in the development of innovative data center solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned data center professional with extensive experience operating large-scale, mission-critical facilities and a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, and operational excellence.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advisory support for data center research, development, and product innovation initiatives.
  • Review facility plans, designs, specifications, and engineering documentation to ensure operational efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Conduct site visits, facility inspections, and operational assessments of existing and proposed data center environments.
  • Develop and enhance engineering, maintenance, and operational procedures for data center facilities.
  • Evaluate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and provide recommendations to optimize performance and resilience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to understand technical and business requirements, translating them into functional design criteria and operational standards.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend best practices for reliability, uptime, energy efficiency, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on data center operations, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Qualifications

    • Extensive experience operating and managing large-scale data center facilities in a leadership or senior operational role.
    • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including critical Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
    • Proven experience developing and implementing maintenance programs, operational procedures, and engineering standards.
    • Ability to conduct technical reviews, inspections, and assessments of mission-critical facilities.
    • Strong understanding of data center design principles, operational requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate customer needs into practical technical solutions.
    • Experience supporting engineering teams, product development initiatives, or infrastructure design projects is highly desirable.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or mission-critical data center environments.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering, facility commissioning, and operational readiness programs.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends within the data center industry, including sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovative cooling solutions.
