What are you going to do 

We are partnering with our client, a leading organization in the Oil and Gas sector, to appoint an Operations Superintendent for their onshore Plants and Wells in Dubai. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations within defined safe operating envelopes, working to strict procedures to maintain plant availability while protecting the environment, optimizing economic performance, and upholding our client's values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe operations of Plants and Wells within defined safe operating envelopes, in accordance with safe work procedures to ensure plant availability is maintained whilst taking environmental care, economic operation and upholding Company values.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards in all activities of Margham operations. Ensure compliance. Monitor and stop non compliances.
  • Ensure safety of people and integrity of assets in operational areas. Ensure safe work compliance, Verify permits. Super user for eVision, manage access to eVision.
  • Guide, monitor and audit plant operations to ensure safe plant operation within defined envelopes.
  • Prepare timely and accurate operation section reports; act on nonconformances including Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly reports. Manage all routine reports like Production, Process Safety, Availability, Lab analysis reports. Review, approve and publish reports.
  • Provide technical advice, first point of contact for operations staff on technical, operational and process issues; advise operations staff on solutions to problems & improvement actions.
  • Ensure capacity, reliability, availability, product quality and efficiency of the plant is maintained.
  • Ensure quality of technical documents. Lead review and revision of operation manuals, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures etc. Develop operating procedures to cover new operating modes.
  • Manage change and new projects ensuring risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP), changes communicated, documented and staff trained.
  • Manage People Manage direct report namely Shift Supervisors, set objectives, monitor performance and conduct routine appraisals.
  • Participate in Risk management e.g safety and hazard reviews e.g. Hazard and Operability Study, Safety Integrity Level, and Hazard Identification studies.
  • Prepare operational budget requirement for Margham including and not limited to DEWA power, Bulk chemicals, fuel gas, lab analysis, waste oil removal, consumables etc.
  • Special Tasks and Projects. Take up special assignments by reporting officer and responsibilities as defined in the Company procedures.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or equivalent relevant technical qualifications.
  • Minimum of 15 years of Gas Plant / Refinery experience. 10 years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of gas plant design, controls, maintenance and operations.
  • Experience with distributed control systems, gas processing and gas turbine and compressor operations.
  • Strong verbal and written English skills, including the ability to draft concise operating instructions and procedures.
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Employees shall read, understand, and comply with the Company's Information Security Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Employees shall promptly report any suspected or actual information security incidents to their respective line manager or the IT department.
  • Employees shall protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Company's information assets.
