Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator on behalf of a premier multinational mining company operating in Papua. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, ensuring full compliance, managing contractor relationships, and optimizing cost efficiencies for major mining operations.

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee end-to-end contract administration, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing commercial contracts and amendments.

  • Monitor contractor performance, deliverables, and KPIs to ensure strict compliance with agreed terms, safety standards, and project schedules.

  • Manage variation orders, scope changes, claims, and dispute resolutions in close coordination with project management and legal teams.

  • Process contractor invoices, rate evaluations, and progress payments in alignment with commercial agreements.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and commercial audits on operational and vendor contracts.

  • Maintain comprehensive contract documentation, reporting, and tracking within company management systems.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of contract administration/commercial experience, ideally within the Mining, Heavy Industry, EPC, or Oil & Gas sectors.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with contract law, procurement processes, variation management, and claim handling in large-scale field operations.

  • Language: Fluent in English and Bahasa to communicate effectively with multinational management and local contractors.

  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in contract management software and SAP/ERP systems is highly desirable.
