Introduction

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our client, a tier one mining business with operations across the WA Pilbara region. In this role you will play a key role in creating and managing executable work orders aligned to asset strategies, maintenance plans, and business goals. You'll collaborate with multiple teams, optimise resource planning, monitor costs, and help drive the reliability and performance of critical assets across the operation.

About this role

As part of the Maintenance Planning & Engineering team, you'll create and manage work orders, support shutdown planning for fixed plant equipment, optimise resources, review asset condition, and monitor cost performance.

This is an 5:2/4:3 roster position, on a 6 month contract.

  • Review and prioritise approved maintenance notifications and provide feedback to originators.
  • Estimate labour, equipment downtime, and resource requirements for non-urgent work.
  • Plan detailed work orders and coordinate specialised external contractors when required.
  • Analyse maintenance history and ensure accurate data updates for damage and failure causes.
  • Initiate warranty and repairable/rotable processes for corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Review upcoming work against asset criticality, safety, statutory and project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve scope conflicts, adjusting downtime and schedules as necessary.
  • Monitor planned vs actual costs, support budget forecasting, and escalate major variances.

Is this you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Experience in power station maintenance or a similar industry
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems such as SAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to work in a remote mine site on an 5:2/4:3 roster
  • You must be located in Australia and have current right to work to be considered for this role
  • You must have a full manual driving licence to be considered
