Introduction

  • Diagnose fault, repair, calibrate and overhaul a wide range of valves and field instruments from various production facilities, carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on various mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reports to: SENIOR WORKSHOP ENGINEER

What are you going to do 

  • Under the direction of the Senior or General technician, carries out overhauling or service of wide range of controls, isolation and ESD valves in safe manner within the scheduled timeframe which includes completing hydrostatic Pressure Testing I Leak Testing.
  • Carry out testing and calibration of wide range of field instruments such as pressure, level, flow

    and temperature transmitters, various types of gauges, chemical pumps, pneumatic instruments / equipment's.

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on various mobile equipment's such as diesel generators, compressors, steam boilers and lighting towers.
  • Maintains all tools, test equipment and Workshop Equipment at a high degree of operational availability.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Technician, receives Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance Routines, safety Permits and carries-out assignments.
  • Assists Senior Instrument Workshop Technicians in minor instrumentation modifications.
  • Under close supervision, assists in the installation and commissioning of new equipment such as

    test benches and mobile equipment.

  • Carry out all maintenance activities in accordance to approved QMS and HSE Procedures and Regulations to ensure quality and safety of personnel, plants, and the environment.
  • Documenting and accurately reporting all maintenance, configurations, repairs, overhauls,

    adjustments and inspections.

  • Supervise the worksite during Maintenance activities and ensure Maintenance is carried out as required / recommended.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Completion of Higher Secondary (12 years) education, followed by 3 years full time Diploma or training inn Instrument measurement I Valve overhauling / calibration.
  • Ability to read and understand and follow technical specifications for the assembly, strip down and repair of equipment.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment with a focus on development of self and others.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely.
  • Ability to operate safely in a heavy equipment in shop/plant environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the repair of pneumatic and electronic instruments with emphasis on valve overhauling and calibration.
  • Skilled to perform calibration & overhauling of all Instrument Sensors and final control elements such as Transmitters, Switches Meters, Solenoids, Control valves, Safety regulation valves, and emergency Shutdown Valves.
  • Qatar Driving License - Light Vehicles Driving License Mandatory.
