What are you going to do 

Purpose

  • To helm Global Process Safety’s mission to prevents any Major Accident Events on fleet.
  • Guides and supports discipline engineers throughout Bid-EPCI-Operation phases to ensure the design implementation of process safety principles to avoid any major accidental events during operation phase
  • To support Global Process Safety Manager/TA to define, develop, and maintain concepts, philosophy, procedures, guidance
  • When required, review and approve engineering deliverables of Process Safety efficiently according to the specified technical requirements and provide Technical Expert advice
  • Evaluate, review and approve deviations to corporate standards

Responsibilities

  • Develops/maintains corporate guidance and provide technical expert review and advice on FPSO HSSE Design Philosophy, Corporate Safety Design Standard and Performance Standards for SCEs that is relevant to process shutdown and emergency shutdown
  • Develops/maintains corporate guidance and provide technical expert advice when required on SIS Lifecycle Plan, Functional Safety Management Plans.
  • Participates in/conducts safety risk assessment such as HAZOP, SIL Classification, SIL Verification, Fault Tree Analysis and any other technical studies when required.
  • Provides technical expert advice on the in-house calculation and workshop arranged by SCE system owners such as process safety time, alarm management.
  • Anticipates potential problems and takes preventive actions and handles variations in project execution by discussion with Global Process Safety Manager/TA.
  • Develops unique solutions for complex technical problems that may include new design concept.
  • Provides technical expert advice when required on management of change or conduct follow up verifications where required.
  • Provides technical/engineering support and advice to BID/FEED projects,
  • Construction/Commissioning work at site, including Operations phase, trouble shoots and follows up with stakeholders to rectify the gaps or problems.
  • Where necessary, provide off- site support and advice.
  • Provides functional safety input on Lessons Learnt and incident investigation.
  • Keep updating new industry Functional Safety subject and share with the team
  • Conducts specific studies to improve process safety design or methodology of risk assessment
  • Supports Global Process Safety Manager/TA to arrange and facilitate Process Safety Steering Committee.
  • Conducts Functional Safety Assessment and/or support on follow-up actions.
  • Develops and manages functional safety training.

Requirements

  • Minimum 25 years, experienced in FPSO EPCI , Operations Process Safety, Technical Safety, loss preventionand/or Process Safety engineering in oil and gas sector
  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering
  • This position is considered more seasoned, responsible and reliable in terms of knowledge, experience and decision making. Hence bigger responsibilities/accountability is expected.
  • Has to independently decide on all technical and engineering matters and specifications related to Process safety. The value of the portion of the assigned project being handled varies.
  • Supervises Engineers on technical matters.
  • Deals occasionally with suppliers on technical and engineering aspects of the project.
  • Deals with client to resolve Technical queries that arise during the due course of the project.
  • Occasionally, the job holder needs to perform certain degree of research and network with other industry experts to arrive at a solution.
  • Deals with internal stakeholders (such as Operation, HSE, Process, Mechanical, Instrument, Controls, Naval Architect…) on technical matters.
