Introduction

  • The position is in charge, under supervision of the Logistics Division Manager, of all logistics road activities related to cargo transportation of the Contractor(s), from monitoring the Contractor in transport vehicles mobilization, to timely issuance of all required Traffic Management Plans, authorizations and permits, to coordination with Ras Laffan relevant Authorities.
  • The position shall interact daily with Logistics department personnel of Contractors, and any other relevant third party.
  • The position includes a close coordination and interaction with General Department of Industrial City of Ras Laffan, and other Road Transport Authorities.

What are you going to do 

  • Develops and maintains a road cargo transportation plan and associated schedule to monitor permanently the delivery of all type of material and equipment’s (critical, non-critical, conventional, bulk, HLO, SHLO) in coordination with the Head of Marine Traffic.
  • Coordinates daily with the NFS Head of Marine Traffic to ensure the timely mobilization of cargo transport equipment, in order to ease and expedite vessels’ offloading.
  • Maintains permanent watch on availability of road cargo transport equipment, qualitatively and quantitively, identifies and report any potential shortage of equipment or delay of mobilization.
  • Provides support to Contractors on road cargo transport operations for all type of cargo.
  • Develops and maintains cordial relationships, Interfaces and coordinates as often as necessary with RLIC authorities, and SHES Department to ensure all permits and authorizations are obtained timely, and assure smooth, efficient and safe road transport operations.
  • Organizes, coordinates and monitors the daily commute of Project Personnel from various locations (Doha, Al-Khor) to RLIC, including spot transportation of PMT members, and coordinates with Facilities Management Department for drivers and vehicles availability.
  • Maintains and adjusts the mobilization plan of the Site Project Personnel vehicles.
  • Coordinates and monitors the usage of Site Project Personnel vehicles, and interfaces with Facilities Management Department for services, maintenance, refueling and related activities, to ensure permanent availability of the equipment.
  • Develops and maintains all performance indicators related to road traffic and shipments, adapt permanently the Key Performance Indicators to each phase of the project, and issues the associated dashboard.
  • Promotes and uphold safety, health, environmental and worker welfare performance of all logistics execution activities being implemented by the Contractors.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor or Engineer Degree in Logistics, Freight Forwarding or equivalent proven experience in similar project and discipline.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in logistics and transport operations, including special equipment.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the techniques of identifying, analyzing, and resolving transportation and logistic problems.
  • Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels, in particular when at Site.
  • Experience with Contractors, Sub-contractors and Vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrate ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience with worldwide Logistics and Freight Forwarding organizations.
  • Diverse technical and business background in executed projects to enable strong interface and communications with Project Managers, Business Team personnel, government and port authorities and construction personnel.
  • Good teamwork ability, facilitation skills, communication skills, and stress control.
  • Good analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with a high level of adaptability
