Introduction

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure yard have the correct procedures and systems in place prior to manufacturing start, that meet its contractual obligations;
  • Establish internal Quality processes and requirements to ensure implementation and enforcement of contractual requirements;
  • Write internal surveillance plans and other Quality Assurance (QA) documentation in order to implement a fit-for-purpose Quality Management System (QMS);
  • Work closely with the Project Team to manage Quality in accordance with the Project Contractual requirements “including but not limited specifications, standards and norms” on site;
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of Quality Control (QC) personnel-based fabrication site;
  • In conjunction with the Site Manager liaise with the Principal Contractor and their Sub-Contractors at their manufacturing facilities and coordinate quality-related interfaces;
  • Monitor conformance and report on progress of the works;
  • Review, comment and accept Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), as-built record packs and other Quality-related documentation submitted by the Contractor and its Sub-Contractors in liaison with the appropriate QE and Package Managers/Engineers;
  • Planning and management arrangement of surveillance of production and inspection of equipment at manufacturing works or site.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Proven Experience in leading a quality or engineering team on manufacturing sites;• Cultural awareness and experience in a Chinese fabrication environment;
10 plus years relevant industry experience;• Degree qualified engineer or time served apprentice with a minimum of HNC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or maintenance discipline (Structural, Mechanical, or Civil);
Welding engineer/technician IWE/EWE/IWT or have significant experience;• Experienced and certified as NDT operator;
Coating Level FROSIO or NACE;• Fluent in spoken and written English preferable knowledge of local language.
