Introduction

Brunel is currently seeking an experienced Procurement & Materials Specialist to support a major offshore development project.

Location: Onshore - Paramaribo, Suriname

Contract: 2-year contract

Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off (7 days/week, 8 hours/day)

What are you going to do 

  • Support Procurement activities for operational departments, including Drilling, Wells, Logistics, Marine, and Support Services.
  • Prepare and process Call-Off Orders under existing contracts and manage low-risk procurement activities.
  • Draft and administer purchase orders and low-complexity contracts while ensuring timely sourcing execution.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to expedite deliveries and maintain operational readiness.
  • Monitor inventory levels, critical spare parts availability, and replenishment activities.
  • Analyze stock consumption trends, identify surplus or obsolete inventory, and support inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Act as the focal point for procurement procedures, templates, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs, prepare performance reports, and contribute to process digitalization.
  • Serve as the SAP MM focal point, supporting procurement and inventory management processes, user assistance, master data quality, and system improvements.
  • Coordinate SAP testing activities, upgrades, and user training sessions.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company governance, ethics, anti-corruption policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits while maintaining complete procurement documentation and audit trails.
  • Identify procurement risks and recommend mitigation actions.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree (required).
  • Proven experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Contract Administration, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and procurement governance.
  • Solid experience with inventory management, materials planning, warehouse operations, and stock optimization.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management), including Purchasing and Inventory Management processes.
  • Experience supporting SAP users, master data management, system testing, and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of logistics, marine support activities, drilling, and well operations.
  • Experience with procurement reporting and KPI development; Power BI knowledge is considered an advantage.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
